Communication skills

Our Business Analysts act as the main liaison between the business users and the technical team. They need to work closely with the Project Manager to ensure that the project plan is adhered to and scope changes are properly agreed upon, approved and documented.

Communication skills are crucial during every phase of the project:

• Scope the system. During the initial phase of a project they will work with key project stakeholders to formulate and communicate the business vision, to envision initial requirements, and to scope the project.
• Translate business needs. A major responsibility of Business Analysts is to work with project stakeholders to translate their requirements into input developers can understand, as well as to translate the resulting questions that the developers have into language stakeholders can understand. They interface between stakeholders and developers in an iterative process throughout the project.
• Translate technical issues. Business Analysts will also explain technical/architectural complexities to project stakeholders. They have to explain what the developers are doing and why they need to do it, including clarifications of the basis of schedules and estimates.
• Model and document. Business Analysts will often work with project stakeholders to identify, design, and then document their requirements and business domain details.
• Political mentor. Business Analysts help project teams through the political minefields within their organizations, particularly when they have worked within the same organization for several years.
• Test and validation. Business Analysts will work with project stakeholders to validate their requirements and analysis models via techniques such as reviews, walkthroughs, and play acting.
• Represent stakeholders. When project teams lack direct access to their project stakeholders - clearly not a good situation - they will act as "stakeholder surrogates". Typically developers will treat Business Analysts as the "client" from which requirements, domain information, and business priorities are provided. Business Analysts in turn will work with the stakeholders to obtain information and to verify decisions.

Essential Functions

The QA Team develops and executes complete tests which include verification of functionality, performance and scalability parameters for products and features delivered by EXE Software's development team.

They also develop and execute automated tests that deliver substantial ROI and measurable increases in QA efficiency using off-the-shelf and custom test automation tools.

They work closely with development, product management, documentation, IT, and technical support to ensure that the quality objectives of all projects are met within schedule constraints.
Clearly communicate QA results, concerns, and project status to the engineering management team and other stakeholders in a timely manner.

Technical skills

Our QA Team expertise goes beyond skills and experience in developing and executing tests; they have hands-on skills or at least an excellent understanding of:

• Database servers and technologies such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, ADO and XML;

Application Support Engineers provide 7x24 support for medium-high complexity software applications.

High responsibilities

Application Support Engineers are fully aware about their high responsibilities:

• Provide application and technical support assistance over the phone, email and/or remote connection within assigned product area of expertise.
• Perform all activities pertaining to problem identification and resolution, while controlling client expectations.
• Perform modifications to incorporate new business functionalities or technical requirements' changes
• Document progress, resolution and time spent on all client activity in the appropriate tracking systems.
• Communicate client status, concerns and issues to the appropriate internal resources on a routine basis or as given situation warrants.
• Provide on-site support in case of systems updates, new implementation or massive data transfers or uploads.
• Assist the development analysis for improvements or new functionalities.
• May also assist in the development of client employees through participation in education and training activities.
